Job duties: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology or a closely related field. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Must submit to a name based criminal background check and have no felony convictions. Must not be registered on a child abuse or adult abuse registry in any state. Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test prior to employment. If employed, the new employee is required to pass a fingerprint-based background check within the first 30 days of employment.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Court Services Officer’s duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervision of adult and juvenile offenders placed on probation by the District Court.
- Communication and interaction with offenders and other relevant parties in the investigation and preparation of reports for the Court.
- Identifying an offender’s needs and risk to the community and referring offenders to appropriate community resources for assistance.
- Maintains chronological records of client contacts and of the caseload in general.
- Prepares reports related to the transfer of supervision, progress and violations of probation.
- Requires working closely with law enforcement and other community agencies.
