Are you a creative self-starter with a talent for bringing learning to life? The Kansas judicial branch education team is seeking a hands-on professional to assist with the design and execution of training and development programs for the Kansas courts. The ideal candidate enjoys contributing to the success of high-impact education events by meticulously managing every detail in a dynamic environment.  

Job Duties: Assists the director of education with programs for state and municipal judges, court employees, and other stakeholders by planning and coordinating all aspects of training, conferences, and special events, staffing education committees, troubleshooting at conferences, monitoring continuing education compliance, tracking educational offerings, and performing assignments contributing to the mission of OJA. The position’s working title is “Court Education Specialist.”

Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Human Development and Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Administration of Justice, or related field of study.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to express ideas concisely (orally and in writing), and to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.     
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Judicial Branch policies and legal regulations to make sound work decisions.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws, and legal factors pertaining to the various departments of the district court.
  • Demonstrated ability to design education and development programs.
  • Knowledge of modern office management.
  • Ability to travel statewide approximately six to ten times annually.
