Job Duties: This position is responsible for completing initial intakes with clients upon conviction and/or sentencing to probation with potential of maintaining an administrative caseload. The initial intake could include scheduling clients for assessments, assisting clients in completing paperwork for presentence investigations and reviewing initial steps post-sentencing with client placed on probation supervision. The chosen candidate will also be required to maintain log notes and could potentially be required to complete affidavits to the Court and appear/testify in court proceedings in addition to conducting and administering urinalysis testing as ordered by the Courts.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required with preference given to degrees in a social services field. This position requires attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills in addition to organizational and computer skills. Ability to work both independently and with a team is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of one year experience in the field of criminal justice is preferred, with preference given to experience relating directly to probation supervision. LS/CMI and WRNA certification and knowledge of evidence-based practices is a plus. Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and multi-task is important.
