Job Duties:  This position would supervise a caseload of juvenile offenders placed under court supervision. Work closely with parents, schools, and service providers to address client needs. Interview clients and families and compile information for reports and testimony for the court regarding disposition/sentencing and possible placement options. Maintain timely and accurate chronological records on each client. Identify client needs and make appropriate community referrals when warranted.  Conduct drug and alcohol testing. While the primary focus of this position is the supervision of juvenile offenders, it may include the supervision of Child in Need of Case cases as necessary.

Job duties may change to meet the needs of the agency and court.

Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice or other human services related fields. The applicant must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. All applicants must pass a named-based criminal history check.  If employed by Court Services, the new employee will pass a fingerprint-based criminal history check within the first thirty days of employment.

Preferred qualifications: Proven verbal and written communication skills.  A minimum of one year’s experience in one or more of the following within the past five years:
  • Conducting interviews
  • Writing formal reports
  • Working with justice-involved juveniles
  • Working with juveniles and/or families
  • Working with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health issues
Upon successful completion of 12 months of probationary term, limited remote work privileges may be considered.
