Location of Employment: 6th Judicial District, Linn County, KS Position/Salary and Benefits: Clerk of the District Court I, Grade 31, $51, 758.62 annually

Job Duties: This is highly supervisory, administrative, and participatory work as a Clerk of the District Court. Work involves the overall management of the Civil, Criminal, Probate, Traffic, Juvenile and delinquent personal property tax functions in a trial level of the Kansas District Court. Work involves the coordination of various activities and subordinate personnel to ensure that case processing systems and procedures are efficient, effective, and compatible throughout the court. Requires complete knowledge of all computer programs, including accounting, docketing, traffic, budget, and judge’s docket to be effective. Work is performed under the supervision of the chief clerk and the chief judge.
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from high school and four years of clerical experience, including at least two years of court clerical or other legal experience. Course work at an accredited two or four-year college or university may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of required experience, except that at least two years of court clerical or comparable experience is required in addition to any college work substituted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in accounting, personnel supervision, records management, other court related duties and customer service.
Experience with personal computer technology, software applications, local area network systems.
Familiarity with the sixth Judicial District preferred.
