Job Duties: This position is responsible for the management of the adult Pre-Sentence Unit, to include Presentence Investigations, Pretrial Supervision and Presentence Assessments. The chosen candidate will influence programming and budgetary decisions within the adult pre-sentence units, as well as offer personnel oversight and management.

Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree is required, preference given to a social services field.  Minimum of three years of experience in the field of social services, with preference given to experience relating directly to presentence investigations, pretrial supervision and/or risk-needs assessments. This position requires attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills. The ability to work both independently and with a team is required.  An ability to supervise staff and handle confidential personnel information is required. 

Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of the Kansas Sentencing Guidelines, experience researching case law and certification in LSCMI/WRNA is preferred. The ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and multi-task is important. Experience working with the Courts, writing presentence investigations and supervision of pretrial offenders is preferred.  Strong leadership skills are desired. 

Other: Successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
