Job Duties: This CSO I position is assigned to the Adult Probation Department. This position will be primarily responsible for supervision of defendants placed on probation and felony drug diversion.
The job duties involve but are not limited to; communication and interaction with defendants placed on probation and diversion; assisting defendants in understanding and complying with the conditions that have been placed on them; identifying their needs and referring them to appropriate community resources. The job duties require conducting WRNA, LSCMI, and SASSI assessments; meeting with defendants; accurately maintaining records; monitoring court dockets; enforcing orders of the court; giving testimony; and organizing information for the transfer of supervision or the arrest of a defendant who has violated probation. This position will work closely with individuals and agencies within the community in developing and utilizing resources; with law enforcement; and court staff as well as the District Attorney’s office. Work is performed independently or in teams under the general direction of the Chief Court Services Officer.
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, criminology, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the criminal court system with experience in caseload management.
Ability to multitask and have excellent time management skills
Must be able to complete EPICS, WRNA, and LSCMI, and SASSI certification within 12 months of employment and maintain those certifications while employed
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and written
Proficient use of current computer programs and technology
Professional, courteous and cooperative in demeanor
