Job Duties: This CSO II position is responsible for the supervision of CSO I staff assigned to the Presentence Investigation (PSI) Unit.  Duties include training staff, preparing sentencing dockets, case assignments for PSI Reports and Criminal History Reports ordered by the District Court. This position will carry a minimum caseload of 7 PSI reports per month, attend court hearings when necessary, and complete LSCMI/WRNA and SASSI assessments. Must maintain certifications for LSCMI, WRNA, and SASSI. 

This CSO II serves as the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) and is required to maintain all certifications required for that role.  Responsible for assisting in running criminal history records as needed for staff.  Additionally, they will assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the Adult Department.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college with major course work in a related field.
  • Currently working as a CSO.
  • Available transportation that is functional, safe and properly insured.
  • Copy of college transcript(s) will be required from all applicants if not already on file.
  • Must pass criminal history background check.
  • Must be certified or able to obtain certification to conduct criminal records checks through KCJIS/ALERT/FBI/KBI.
