Job Duties: The CSO II position is responsible for the training and supervision of CSOs that provide Court Services to children and families under the jurisdiction of the District Court, Child in Need of Care Department. This includes oversight of the CSO I daily job duties which include report writing, court appearances, family assessments, home visits, utilization of the court case management system and compliance with policies and procedures.

This position will work with other agencies such as the District Attorney’s office, Division of Families and Children Services, CASA, and foster care contractors to ensure that services are provided to the families in a timely manner. 

The CSO II position will serve as backup supervisor to the CSO III. They will work with other managers to develop and implement policies and procedures.

This position will also manage a specialized caseload of Truancy cases.  This will involve working closely with the schools, and other community service providers.

It is a requirement for the CSO II to complete training for YLS/CMI certification.  Certification must be maintained annually.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Child Welfare system and/or juvenile justice fields.
  • Experience in caseload management.
  • Ability to multitask and have excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient use of current computer programs and technology.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely (verbally and written).
  • Available transportation that is functional, safe and properly insured.
  • Copy of college transcript(s) will be required from all applicants if not already on file.
  • Must pass criminal history background check.
Required Education, Licensure, and experience:
  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college with major course work in a related field.
