Job Duties: This is a full time, highly visible, forward-facing position that supports the entire Kansas Judicial Branch in personnel, payroll, and human resources across the branch for 31 districts, 105 counties and 110 court houses. This position assists with the administration of the Judicial Branch payroll and benefits program and requires a high level of attention to detail. The duties of this position include payroll transactions, performance management tracking, personnel transactions, and benefits enrollment and tracking. The successful candidate will provide guidance to Kansas Judicial Branch staff throughout the employment arc.
Examples of work performed:
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Explain benefits options to employees
  • Calculating unofficial retirement estimates
  • Monitoring performance evaluations
  • Entering data into HRIS in an accurate and timely manner
  • Verifying data entered in HRIS for accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensuring timesheets are submitted in an accurate and timely manner
  • Checking payroll
  • Completing forms in an accurate and timely manner
  • Creating and distributing required reports
  • Working on worksheets, position descriptions, and evaluation forms
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalency; supplemented by college course work in business, public or personnel administration; and 3-5 years’ experience in the field of personnel administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The qualified candidate must be proficient with Office 365 and have experience with reporting and analysis of numerical data.

Preferred qualifications: A heart for the employment experience.  Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and display ability to maintain calm when discussing personnel issues. Experience with MS Access and Excel preferred and experience with PeopleSoft, helpful.
